QUALIFIED PRODUCTS LIST OF
PRODUCTS CLASSIFIED UNDER MILITARY SPECIFICATION MIL-S-13949
SHEET, PRINTED WIRING BOARD GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR
This list has been prepared for use by the Government in the acquisition of products covered by MIL-S-13949. Listing of a product is not intended to and does not connote endorsement of the product by the Department of Defense. All products listed have been qualified under the requirements for the product as specified in the latest effective issue of the applicable specification. Section 1 specifies manufacturer by specification sheet. Section 2 is alphabetical and provides the manufacturer's address and the slash sheets each manufacturer is qualified for.
THE ACTIVITY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS QPL IS THE DEFENSE SUPPLY CENTER COLUMBUS (DSCC-VQ), COLUMBUS, OH
43216-5000.
The grades and classes which are listed in this QPL reflect the highest level obtained per specification sheet. Base materials less than .0200 inch are representated in the QPL as the thinnest base material qualified. This Government designation extends from the thinnest base material shown up to, but not including, .0200 inch. One Qualification Reference Number (QRN) for this group has been assigned as shown herein. Base material thicknesses of .0200 inch and above are represented in the QPL by the thickest base material qualified. This Government designation extends from the thickest base material down to .0200 inch; one QRN has also been assigned for this group.
Metal cladding extensions are based upon the QRN for the thinnest base material. The metal cladding weight as shown on the thinnest base material extends up to the thicker cladding weights. No extension is granted for lesser weight cladding. If the manufacturer does not qualify a product in the less than .0200 inch range, the minimum cladding which is qualified is that shown for the cladding in the .0200 inch and over range. If a manufacturer plans to manufacture a product which has a cladding thickness less than that stipulated herein, a complete requalification is required.
The third letter identifer shown in the Government designator is the highest Tg range qualified. This range extends down to the lower ranges. Colored/noncolored extends both ways. QRN's for double-sided metal clad base materials and pre-pregs will be used as follows:
Base material thickness less than .0200 inch, use QRN marked "L".
Example: 13-XXX-GF-L-CH/CH-91
Base material thickness greater than or equal to .0200 inch, use the QRN marked "G".
Example: 13-XXX-GF-G-CH/CH-91
QRNs for pre-preg will reflect the group of products in which they belong.
Example: For glass reinforcement in group 2, use 13-XXX-GF-P-G2-91
Single clad base materials extend from those shown in the QPL with the minimum cladding of the single clad side being equal to or greater than the thickness shown in the QRN. The base material thickness for single clad material may be less than that shown in this QPL, but it must still meet the requirements of the customer. The third letter identifier is exactly as shown herein and the same extensions apply.
An asterisk (*) following the Government designator refers to the qualification of single-ply constructions. All other listings refer to constructions of at least two-ply reinforcement material.
Effective 1 August 1997, MIL-S-13949 has been declared "Inactive for New Design." This QPL is applicable on all acquisitions to which MIL-S-13949 is applied.
