MIL-DTL-62738A(AT)
4.2.3.3 PWA setup. To determine conformance to 3.3.3, E5 and E9 shall be attached to
ground. An 18 kohm resistor shall be attached at E4 and 8.0 +0.4 Vdc shall be applied to the
unterminated end. A 24 Vdc shall be applied at E6. A 5.0 +0.1 Vdc shall be applied at E7.
These voltages shall be verified to be present with a voltmeter for the tests of 4.2.3.4 through
4.2.3.7.
4.2.3.4 Input peak limiting. To determine conformance to 3.3.4, the waveform of
figure 1 shall be applied at E1 with respect to E2 and the signal at E1 shall be verified to
approximate the waveform of figure 2.
4.2.3.5 Points voltage output signal. To determine conformance to 3.3.5, an
18 + 1.8 kohm resistor shall be connected to E4 and 8.0 +0.4 Vdc shall be applied to the
unterminated end. The waveform of figure 3 shall be applied at E1 with respect to E2 using a
source with output impedance of 10 +1 ohms. The signal amplitude shall be measured at E3 and
it shall be verified that no signal peak exceeds 6.8 +0.6 V.
4.2.3.6 Ignition signal output. To determine conformance to 3.3.6, the signal of figure 3
shall be applied to E1 with respect to E2 and it shall be verified that the signal at E4 conforms to
the requirements of 3.3.6. Trigger the oscilloscope on the negative slope of the output at E3.
Measure that time interval from the start of the sweep until the output signal reaches half of its
peak level.
4.2.3.7 Ignition inhibit. To determine conformance to 3.3.7, a 10 ohm, 10%, 100 watt
resistor shall be attached to E1 and the waveform of figure 3 shall be applied at the unterminated
end with respect to E2 with a source capable of supplying not less than 2 amperes. A logic level 0
shall be applied at E8 and it shall be verified that the signal at E1 conforms to the requirements of
3.3.7.
4.2.4 Interface requirements verification.
4.2.4.1 Overall envelope inspection. Insert the PWA into the present existing location of
the test set, verify its envelope and interfacing conformance.
4.2.5 Ownership and support requirements verification.
4.2.5.1 Interchangeability inspection. To determine conformance to 3.5.1, the
interchangeability between different parts, subassemblies, and assemblies having the same military
part number shall be verified.
4.2.5.2 Identification marking inspection. Verify the presence of the required PWA
identification marking.
